The RGB LED module contains a red, green and blue LED that can be controlled with their given inputs. Play around with it and you will discover that you can make a lot more colors than just red, green and blue. There are 7 distinct color combinations!

Tech Talk

The RGB LED is a module containing Red, Green, and Blue LEDs within a single component. Each color is controlled by an individual power foot and a common ground foot. Each LED has its own resistor to protect it, as well as to maintain a consistent brightness between all 3 LEDs. Since the LEDs are diodes, they only operate with current flow in one direction; the power at the foot for the given color must be higher than that at the ground foot to turn on the LED. There are 7 unique color combinations that can be obtained with this module by turning on and off the 3 LEDs.
